Rob Pardo speaks about Blizzard game design.

This is a good read on RPG design. And they owned up to SIlvermoon poor city design.

The Universe by Lex McDowell

Lex has been reading a number of books on space lately and wanted to write one himself. He was even kind enough to give the attribution for his major source. A very good first scholarly work.

Lex is writing a book on space.

For anyone raising a daughter, have them play this board game.

"I think you'll find that the universe, pretty much covers everything!" (NSFWish)

In my line of work, one must constantly debate whether the universe does indeed cover everything. We don't like our flights of fancy being curtailed.

Man this lemonade is good.

Penguin's Upcoming iPad books. Interesting look at Penguin's ideas for what they want book to become.

This feels like the beginning of the web, though with a lot more motion and interaction. It will be interesting to see if there is a design explosion again. Also I'm wondering if not only will the print establishment not be as facile in this as they may have wanted to be, but also how all the web trained interaction designers will fare.

One thing that I'm looking forward to is that this seems to be a medium of content and not mainly a storefront.

Lego - The Force Unleashed (via Ted). Great lightsaber fight. And in Lego.

Ted used this to win a point about more or less Lego in the house. It's compelling.
